Portable and installation versions of CPU-Z are available.

CPU-Z is available in setup and portable versions. You can review and approve the license agreement in setup mode, as well as modify the default setup folder and create application shortcuts.

The portable edition, on the other hand, can be unzipped anywhere on your computer or an external device and run immediately without any configuration. All you have to do is open the launch file that corresponds to your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit).

CPU-Z is a graphical user interface for computers.

The CPU Z user interface consists of a small window with many tabs: CPU, Caches, Motherboard, Memory, SPD, Graphics and Bench. It automatically captures system data on launch, so you don't need to press a button to get started. In the lower half of the screen, three buttons allow you to close the program, validate the results and access the tools.

Installation and uninstallation

CPU-Z has included installation since version 1.51. Compared to the standalone version, the installation has various advantages:

  • In the start menu and on the desktop, the installation generates program entries.
  • Depending on your system, it installs the appropriate binary (x32 or x64).

Installation

Run the installation executable file and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
Suppression
You can uninstall the program from the Start menu, Programs, CPUID, CPU-Z or through the Add or Remove Programs window (from Settings, Control Panel).

Setup Folder

CPU-Z has a configuration file called cpuz.ini which allows you to customize program settings. cpuz.ini must be in the same directory as cpuz.exe. It should be noted that the use of this file is entirely optional. Default values will be used if the no.ini file is present. Here is how it appears:
