Google Maps Features and Tips

In addition to navigation, Maps also includes labels for stores, restaurants, and other amenities in the desired or current area. It can be described as a geospatial search engine for the user's immediate environment. If you are looking for a dentist or pizza place near you, just type the name or category into the search bar and a number of pins will appear.

To get more information about that store or service, tap the pin. You can plan your daily trips and Maps will show you how to get around using public transport in your area. This feature is best suited for travelers visiting a new city for the first time. By using the same Google account on Chrome, you can sync the app with your PC.

Accessible transit routes for people with disabilities

Wheelchair users can use the search function to find wheelchair accessible transit routes roulant. In Google Maps, enter your target location, then tap "Routes" and choose the public transport symbol. Then tap 'Options', where you will see 'wheelchair accessible' as the new route type in the Routes section. When you choose this option, Google Maps displays a list of wheelchair accessible routes.

Record where you parked your automobile.

On Android phones, tap the blue location dot and select "Save your parking", which adds a label to the Maps app that shows where you parked. Tap it to add information such as the level and location of a parking lot or the time until a counter expires. You can also submit a photo of where you parked and create counter reminders.

Tap the search bar at the top and select Parking Location to find your car later. You can also go to the bottom of the page and search for “Registered parking”. To get rid of it, go to Driving > Erase. Or, on the map, tap "You parked here," then tap More info in the bottom left, then tap Clear.
