Looking to add Xiaomi smart devices to your home? If you answered yes, the application miHome from Xiaomi is your command center for all your IoT gadgets, making your life around the house easier. You will be able to connect and control all your gadgets using your Wifi using this app.
Although the most recent upgrades of Xiaomi Mi Home in 2020 have fixed most of the flaws, this APP still has a lot of options that you will need to master to properly manage all your smart devices.
To control Xiaomi smart devices, download the MiHome app.
To use your Android or Google Assistant to operate your Xiaomi Smart devices, you must first connect your Mi device to the Mi Home app. The first step is to download the app and install it on your Android smartphone by tapping on the download icon. Open the app after installing the APK file.
In miHome, you can either create a new account or you login to an account existing. Turn on your device and open the MiHome app while keeping it close to your phone. A pop-up window that detects your device may appear. To connect, press “OK”. If you don't see the prompt, you can manually add devices by tapping the Plus + icon.
If none are found, select "Add manually" to search your device. To use Xiaomi Smart devices with Assistant, you need to connect your device to your Mi Home app first, then add the Mi Home service to the Assistant app. For added convenience and control, you also need to link your Mi Account to the Google Assistant app.
In the services section of your Android phone's settings, search for "Home control". After that, go to HOME CONTROL and look at DEVICES and ROOMS. Then, in the lower right corner, tap +. There will be a list of supported apps on the Add Devices page; explore and choose We Home. To complete the linking process, use your mobile browser and follow the on-screen instructions.
You can configure the sharing of your smart devices in the “Shared Gadgets” option of miHome to provide family members with access to devices. There are two bookmarks on this tab: My Devices and Shared with Me. When you're away, your family can use the gadgets effortlessly using their apps.
