RogueKiller is a C++ anti-malware tool that can identify and remove generic malware as well as sophisticated threats including rootkits, rogues and worms. This is complete offline installer of RogueKiller.

Based on generic methods of finding malware based on its behavior (heuristics), analysis anti-malware traditional (signature search) and undocumented hacks, the software can detect and remove most basic malware (rogues, Trojans, etc.) as well as some of the advanced threats such as ZeroAccess or TDSS which behave more like rootkits.

RogueKiller is a modest anti-malware program run by a small team, so new detections are based on the "most widely distributed threats". The program reacts quickly to detect and remove threats that can pose a global danger to a large number of people around the world.

Here is a brief overview of what Rogue Killer can do:

  • Kill all harmful processes.
  • Terminate malicious services.
  • Malicious DLLs should be removed from processes.
  • Detect and terminate harmful programs running in the background.
  • Find and remove harmful autostart entries, such as registry keys (RUN/RUNONCE, etc.), task scheduler (1.0/2.0), and startup directories.
  • Find and remove registry hijacks like Shell/Load entries, extension association hijacks, and DLL hijacks, among others.
  • Learn more about DNS hijacking and how to fix it (DNS Fix button)
  • Proxy hijacks: what you need to know / what you need to do (Proxy Fix button)
  • Read/Fix hosts hack (Hosts Fix button)
  • Recover shortcuts/files that have been hidden by “Fake HDD” type thugs.
  • Even if the rootkit is hidden, read and fix the malicious Master Boot Record (MBR).
  • Fix / List SSDT – IRP Hooks – Shadow SSDT (Even with online hooks)
  • Find and restore system files that have been patched or tampered with by a rootkit.

McAfee Stinger is a standalone program that detects and removes viruses. It is a specialized tool to help administrators and users manage an infected system, not a replacement for a antivirus protection complete. The Readme notes for each Stinger release include information about new or improved signatures.

McAfee Stinger includes rootkit scanning and scanning performance improvements, as well as next-generation scanning technologies. It identifies and eliminates threats detected in the “List of Threats” option of the Stinger application under the Advanced menu choices.

Raptor, a real-time behavior detection tool that monitors suspicious activity on an endpoint, is now included in McAfee Stinger. Raptor detects zero-day malware in real time using machine learning and automated behavior-based categorization in the cloud.

The version not registered has limited functionality.
