A64-bit SUS Smart Gesture is a smart touchpad driver which allows you to perform more precise gestures such as tapping, scrolling, dragging and clicking. Smart Gesture has been replaced by the PTP driver for 7th and 8th generation Intel machines, and it comes pre-installed in Windows 10, so you don't need to download and install it. If you are using the 64-bit version of ASUS Smart Gesture software, you will also need to upgrade the corresponding ATK driver.

When “Disable touchpad when mouse is plugged in” is selected, the touchpad function is disabled when an external mouse is connected. A mouse with USB cable, a wireless mouse and a Bluetooth mouse are all included. You can use WiFi or Bluetooth to control your PC from your mobile phone. (First, download Remote Link from App Store or Google Play.)

What is the procedure to launch ASUS Smart Gesture?

The window will have a top menu bar when you open the ASUS driver from device manager: "Gesture", "Mouse detection", and "Mobile control". A frame with animations appears next to the columns of text selections in the “Gesture” tab: “One finger”, “Two fingers” and “Three/Four fingers”. The panels in this window can be customized according to the user's touchpad preferences.

Users can select and deselect options under the “One finger” pillar: tap to choose, double tap to activate, double tap while holding, then swipe. The words “Select”, “Enable” and “Drag” are used to describe their capabilities. Users can select all, some, or none of the action options in all finger count sections.

The second panel shows two-finger capabilities: tap to open the menu, swipe horizontally or vertically, tap to zoom in and out, and rotate clockwise or counterclockwise with two fingers.

These activities are related to the "Show context menu", "Scroll", "Zoom" and "Rotate" buttons. In the "Scroll" category, there is an additional parameter that specifies whether you want to scroll with two fingers in the same way or in the opposite way.

The bottom section is dedicated to “Three/Four Finger” selections: whether or not the community wants to see the menu by tapping or swiping multiple fingers. This action would launch Microsoft Cortana, alerts and task views, as well as modify browser pages. The following buttons line the bottom of this window: "Set Default All", "OK", "Cancel", and "Apply".

Touchpad solutions from ASUS are also available.

The second tab in the top UI menu is "Mouse Detection", which allows the app to automatically disable the touchpad when an adapter Bluetooth or a USB cable is connected to a portable mouse. Users will need to manually implement this feature if this option is not selected when they want to sync a mouse with their laptop if this option is not selected.

The “Mobile Control” tab is the last tab in the Smart Gesture window. Users with the Remote Link app installed on their mobile devices and tablets can use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connections to control their computer like a remote control. The app is only available on Android devices.

This section contains options for installing and enabling Remote Link, as well as the ability to restart the server. Additionally, if someone does not wish to be notified of their device's ability to connect to the Remote Link app, they can check the box next to "Always hide notification".

Download another touchpad driver

The Synaptics Touchpad Driver is a different installation option that allows you to customize your clicking, pointing, and scrolling experience. Both toolkits are available free of charge.

Customize touchpad settings

Users who install ASUS Smart Gesture will be offered a number of customization options to help them get the most out of their ASUS device. One, two, three and four finger touch options can be activated by the driver: rotate, scroll, zoom, etc.
