DirectX 10 (DX10) is a set of technologies developed by Microsoft to make Windows computers an excellent platform for running and presenting multimedia applications with color graphics, videos, 3D animations and rich sound. DirectX provides many new features across all technologies, as well as upgrades to safety and performance, which can be accessed by programs using the DirectX APIs.

The Microsoft DirectX® End-User Runtime upgrades DirectX – the foundational Windows® technology that enables high-speed entertainment and gaming on the PC – for Windows 10 and earlier.

Only Vista and not XP were supported by the application. You need to make several adjustments to various system files responsible for producing the display on your screen in order to render Microsoft DirectX 10 compatible with Windows XP (also called rendering). There are several hacks available to enable Version 10 abilities on XP, and they frequently work for specific settings – but that doesn't indicate they'll work in other situations. To put it another way, use them at your own risk: there is no official version from Microsoft to run DirectX 10 or DirectX 11 on Windows XP.

Windows Vista comes with the utility. This version does not have a standalone update package. Install the service pack and update listed below to upgrade DirectX.

Windows Vista SP1 or later, as well as Windows Server SP1 or later, have the program. This version does not have a standalone update package. Install the service pack and update listed below to upgrade DirectX. You will need to upgrade your operating system to get the most out of Direct X.

Microsoft DirectX 10 is available as freeware for Windows PC operating system/platform (32-bit and 64-bit) without any limitation. DirectX10 is offered as a free download for all software users!
