How do I uninstall Total Commander from my computer?
Total Commander has been removed from the 32-bit version since version 4.50. It can be accessed through Control Panel – Add/Remove Software, or by navigating to the Total Commander directory and running TCUNINST.EXE. If you used the parallel port connection under Windows NT or 2000, you must run the uninstallation as an administrator; otherwise, the parallel port driver will not be uninstalled.
Older versions can be uninstalled by deleting the Total Commander directory entirely (usually c:\wincmd or c:\totalcmd).
How do I print or import a list of files into another program?
Although it is not possible to print a directory directly using Total Commander, there are a few options:
- To print the selected file names, go to Files – Print – File List. You can print filenames only or full file details, depending on the current display mode. Remember that some fonts, such as Fixedsys, may not be compatible with your printer. Install the Generic – Text only printer and connect it to FILE: to print to a file.
- To copy all names to the clipboard, use the cm command copynamestoclip (for example, add it to the button bar).
- Create a list file with the diskdir plugin from our extensions website, which you can then print from Word ou Excel.
- Use a third-party program like print folder pro from www.no-nonsense-software.com. It is a company specializing in the printing of shirts.
How to quickly access a frequently used directory?
Create a button in the button bar or an entry in the Start menu, or use the directory hotlist (CTRL+D). The directories hotlist allows you to add and remove active directories. To add a directory to the button bar, select it, then drag it to the button bar while holding down the SHIFT key. A new icon will appear on the screen. The cd c:dirname command can also be used to create a menu item in the “Start Menu”. (Total Commander requires the entire path to be specified.)
