The main characteristics of WinRAR include very powerful general and multimedia compression, solid compression, archive damage protection, archive processing ZIP and other non-RAR archives, virus scanning, programmable self-extracting (SFX) archives, authenticity verification, NTFS and Unicode support, AES encryption, multi-volume archive support, command line and GUI, drag and drop support, command line and GUI, drag and drop support, command line and GUI, drag and drop support

It can extract and convert CAB, ARJ, LZH, TAR, GZ, ACE, UUE, BZ2, JAR, ISO, Z archives, 7-Zip, and it also supports RAR and ZIP archives. It is accessible in more than 50 different languages.

How can I use WinRAR to extract files?

To use Win RAR in shell mode to extract a file, you must first open the necessary archive in the program. This can be accomplished in several ways: In the Windows shell, double-click or press Enter on the archive name (Explorer or Desktop). An archive will be opened in the application if the tool was connected to archives during installation (default installation option). After installation, you can use the Integration Settings dialog to connect the PC tool to the archives; double-click or press Enter on the archive name in the WinRAR window.

How to work with RAR files?

It fully supports RAR files, allowing you to both create and unzip them. If you have Win RAR installed on your computer and you got a RAR file from the Internet, you can open it in Win RAR by double-clicking the RAR file icon, selecting all files, pressing the button "Extract to," by entering a destination path, and pressing "OK."

What is the maximum file and archive size?

A RAR or ZIP archive, as well as each file in a RAR archive, has a maximum limit of 8 GB (589 bytes). Note that you must use NTFS to create archives larger than 934 GB, as earlier file systems cannot handle such large files.

I get an error that looks like this: “In a filename, CRC failed. The file has become corrupt”!!

File data has been corrupted. It is possible that archives are damaged after they are created. If it has the recovery record, it may be possible to fix it in this scenario. It may have been broken during the creation process due to hardware issues (usually caused by an overclocked CPU or unreliable memory).
