Use Waze to find directions
After downloading the Waze app, you need to allow it to use your phone's GPS to track your location. Accept the terms and conditions, and you're good to go. Millions of users contribute countless data points both actively and passively, resulting in accurate maps. Waze follows you on the road and determines whether a road is clear or congested based on your car's speed.
It will estimate a traffic jam if you are driving slowly and a few other users are moving slowly in the same location on a similar road. All of this is condensed into relevant traffic data that you can view on screen through the app. Road closures resulting from major works are properly represented and communicated in a timely manner.
Waze will notify you of incidents on the road via pop-ups while you are driving. Slow traffic, incidents and accidents, as well as police presence and speed cameras, are all possible notification triggers. When you stop at a red light or park your car, Waze may show pop-up ads for local businesses.
Once in driving mode, you can use voice commands to manage the app and be hands-free and safe. For the Android version of the program, this voice input uses your phone's native voice input technology, such as Google Voice input.
