FreeFileSync is a free Open-Source program for Windows, Linux and macOS which allows you to synchronize files and folders. It is designed to save you time configuring and performing backup operations while providing useful visual feedback.

There are no artificial limits to the number of files you can sync with FreeFileSync. Concretely, the amount of available memory is the only limiting factor for very large synchronization jobs: Free File Sync can synchronize about 1,7 million pairs of files for 1 GB of RAM.

Strengths and features

  • Network shares and local drives must be synchronized.
  • MTP devices must be synchronized (Android, iPhone, tablet, digital camera)

  • Copies of locked files (Volume Shadow Copy Service)
